What Do You Want To Be For Halloween?
Published on October 21 2016
What are you going to be for Halloween? Man I hated that question. I seem to never be able to come up with that killer app of a costume that will make the party. The best costume I ever came up with was a checked leisure suit (with a cigarette burn hole in the armpit) purchased at a a second hand thrift store. I never realized that after putting on my “costume” I became well…. an out of style guy in a leisure suit. Not hard to find in the boonies of Pennsylvania. But there are some people who can pull off a fabulous Halloween look no matter what their age. Let’s take a deep dive into the latest Halloween fashion and get some answers to their design secrets.
Even 2 year old Miss Maddie here has found the perfect 80’s Flashdance look. Let’s ask her about her inspiration.
Marty: Miss Maddie, your costume looks like the quintessential 80’s look. What’s your inspiration for your costume?
Miss Maddie: Waaat?
Marty: How did you decide to do an 80’s costume?
Miss Maddie: Waaat?
Marty: I mean I like your costume, where did you get it?
Miss Maddie: Funny Fly
Marty: ?
Marty: OK, let’s move on.
Was there something about the 80’s that inspired you? The culture?
Miss Maddie: Elphint
Marty: Elephants? What in the world do elephants have to do with the 80’s?
Miss Maddie: Funny flower
Marty: I see you’re keeping your design secrets close to the vest.
Miss Maddie: Ver tard.
Marty: Yes I see your very tired, time for a nap?
Miss Maddie: Yep
Marty: (note to self, 2-year-olds do not make good interview subjects….)
Let’s move on to another fabulous costume.
Baby Ike here is the perfect Charlie Brown. I wonder how he knew he was a Charlie Brown? Let’s ask.
Marty: Mr. Ike, can you tell us how you knew you’d make a good Charlie Brown?
Ike: Fllprrpt
Marty: Ike, Charlie Brown, you like?
Ike: Aaaahhh!
Marty: I think I know where this is going….
Let’s try and find another interview subject.
Excuse me, Miss Lola, can you tell me how you decided to become a Hula girl for Halloween?
Lola: Panting
Marty: Lola, Hula?
Lola: (rolling over)
Marty: Lola, Hula girl?
Lola: (sitting, paw out, head tilted)
Marty: Well Lola, that was very informative, but not quite on topic. Any more costume advice?
Lola: (Sitting)
Marty: Oh Lola, what’s that smell? I think you need to go out!
Lola: (Wagging tail)
Well that pretty much tells the story of this year’s Halloween fashion. The 80’s are in, so are cartoon characters and Hula is always a classic for the pooches. As far as inspiration for my costume. I guess I’m out of luck, time to dust off that leisure suit.

Wondering what Halloween costumes have to do with inert coatings? Absolutely nothing! But hey, it’s Halloween! We can live a little can’t we? Want to scare away corrosion in process analytical systems? No costume necessary, just our corrosion resistant Dursan coating.
