September Outlook on the Polyurethane Foam Crisis

Another major disruption, similar to the February Winter Storm Uri, is likely to strain supply chains and impact suppliers’ production schedules, operating rates and output.

On Sunday, August 29, Hurricane Ida made landfall on the coast of Louisiana, where America’s petrochemical hub has spent this year trying to recover from extended shutdowns stemming from the February storm.

Major chemical suppliers do not expect immediate interruptions for orders; however, incoming raw materials could be disrupted within the Louisiana supply chain.

Ultimately, as we look forward to returning to normal operations, we want to thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during this frustrating time.
